There are different types of professions and each profession is contributing in the progress of the society. Even though each profession must be equally respected and appreciated but the profession but there are some professions which have a special place in the hearts of the people due to the extraordinary services that they provide. One such profession is the profession of medicine. This profession runs obviously by the joint effort of different groups of people like doctors, specialists, surgeons, nurses, pharmacists and other such medical staff members. Doctors are named as the semi-gods because after God only a doctor can save, treat or cure the patient. The doctors who have further specialised in certain part or area of human body are known as the specialists of that particular part. These specialists have the right to operate and prescribe related medicine to that particular part of human body. Gynaecologist and obstetricians are such specialists who have specialised in dealing with the woman health issues.  We will be discussing about the pregnancy and other woman health issues in this article.

Gynaecology and obstetrics:

Even though these two terms of gynaecology and obstetrics are often used together but they are the two individual terms. Gynaecology is the branch of medicine which deals with the issues of woman’s reproductive system. The physician specialises in the field of gynaecology is known as the gynaecologist from Noosa. On the other hand, obstetrics is the branch of medicine which deals with pregnancy period, delivery and post pregnancy period of the woman. The specialist who specialises in the field of obstetrics is known as an obstetrician. Both of these terms are closely interrelated and can be categorised as under single heading of dealing with woman reproductive system.

Pregnancy and other woman health issues:

Everybody is well aware with the term pregnancy which is the developing period of the embryo in the womb of the mother. The pregnancy period constitutes of three trimesters; first trimester, second trimester and third trimester. First trimester or first three months of the pregnancy are considered as the critical months because this is a time when major organs of the embryo develop. There are special measures taken for pre-pregnancy, pregnancy and post pregnancy period.

Besides pregnancy, there are many other women related health issues which needs to be treated. One of the most common is of the disturbed menstrual cycle; it can be normalized by taking the prescribed medication from the specialist. Pelvic pains, contraception, uterus problems are some other such woman health issues which are treated by gynaecologists/obstetricians.
